I have 28 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families providing psychological evaluations, psychotherapy, consultation, and case management. I have been involved in hospital-based and private clinical practice throughout this time. I worked in a variety of settings including residential care facilities, correctional facilities, schools, hospitals, and mental health clinics. I’m a recognized expert in family and criminal courts of Ontario. I’ve been involved with staff operated residential treatment and foster care for 28 years. I have also served 10 years on the board of directors with the Ontario Association of Residences Treating Youth including as President (2010-2012). Over the past 20 years I have, with my partners, owned and operated Stevenson Waplak & Associates providing mental health services, Quinte Children’s Homes as a treatment foster care program, along with Applewood Academy for Progressive Learning; a private treatment school for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural problems.
