Lisa works to support clients to help them address their challenges and to help them develop self-confidence and self-awareness. Life’s many obstacles require resilience and coping skills to manage both current and future hurdles and difficulties.
Lisa has worked in education and in the mental health field since 2001 both as an educator and as a counsellor. With a Bachelor of Arts degree, an International Diploma in Education and a Masters in Counselling Psychology, her focus has been on supporting families and children. Lisa has a passion for helping individuals with issues related to anxiety, depression, mood management, relationships, and attachment. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Solution-focused therapy, and play therapy are some of the approaches utilized by Lisa.
Lisa returned to Canada in 2015 after living and working abroad for thirteen years in Australia, England and South Africa. Her experiences fueled her keen interest in diversity and culture. Lisa lives with her husband, two daughters and their cat Lola.
