Evan Coghlan, RP

Evan is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and clinical consultant at Stevenson, Waplak & Associates. Evan’s clinical practice focuses on teenagers, adults, and couples experiencing negative impacts from difficult life experiences, medical conditions, and their mental health.

His primary means of intervention is cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Within the formation of therapeutic alliance Evan joins with his clients to explore how they interpret the world, through their beliefs and automatic thoughts. Along with CBT Evan also incorporates solution-focused, DBT, skills-based, and Adlerian models into his therapeutic approach.

Evan is also an avid musician and teaches drum lessons. He likes listening to a good record, going for hikes, and spending time with his family. He considers it an honour to join with people as they navigate their lives. Evan links with today’s youth within his rural home community through his role as a community youth worker.

Evan works with individuals within individual sessions, couple sessions, and family sessions. At Stevenson, Waplak & Associates, Evan is the lead therapist for group sessions called “Strategies for Life”. This group program is offered in a video conferencing manner for individuals of any age on a 6 session, weekly basis. The goals of the group include building a mood stable lifestyle, making wise decisions, how to communicate and enhancing self-care skills. Contact us to learn more.
