Tom and Christine

About Us:

We are a family of 5 who are new to the area. We have a lovely home located between Trenton and Brighton. We are a very energetic family and engage in lots of activities. Tom and Chris have been married for 18 years and have 3 children. 2 girls 16, and 11 and a boy 14.

Management Style:

Our routine is starting our day early to get ready for school, and after school we are busy with after school sports and homework. We do like to at the end of our day get together and talk about what has gone on in our day. On the weekends we are active within the community and visiting family. We base our program on respecting ourselves as well as others. We also encourage children to reach their fullest potential. The structure of our program is based on a set routine and we believe to be open minded and flexible to meet the needs of others. We are also very open to working with bio families that remain involved in the care of their child.

Description of the Home:

We have a century, 2 levels, 5 bedroom home.  We offer a one bed program for a suitable child. We have a large backyard with a pool and lots of room to play. We enjoy many nights around our campfire.

Pets:

We have 3 cats named Poppy, Pebbles, and Tabby and our little Bichon mixed dog named Max. They love having children around them and are very playful.

Christine: Primary Parent Therapist

Education:

Educational Assistant through Conestoga College Currently enrolled in Early Childhood Education online program through Loyalist College.

Experience:

Worked through Community Living and with children with special needs. Ran a Home Daycare for children between the ages of 5 months old to 12 years of age. Girl Guides as a leader, Youth leader through our Church.  Supervisor for an after school program and taught parenting classes to young moms.

Training:

TCI, Positive Parenting, CRP, and Food Handlers.

Tom: Secondary Parent Therapist

Education:

AZ Transportation licence and driving certification course.

Experience:

Youth leader at our Church and has coached many hockey and field hockey teams of all ages for both boys and girls teams.

Training:

TCI, Positive Parenting, CRP, Coaching Certification, Engaging Traumatized Clients who Avoid Attachment, Closeness and Painful Feelings Training.

Interests:

Our family is very active in sports.  We love hockey games and horseback riding. We spend many hours at the beach or our backyard in our pool. In the summers we spend lots of time camping at our trailer and fishing. We also love to cook and play lots of board games.
