About Us:

Shannon and I have been together since October 2004, and married since June 2006. Together we have been running a 4 bed Parent Therapist home for children aged 8 to 13 who have significant behavior issues. We are kind, caring, and responsible individuals who enjoy caring for children. Shannon and I have many different skills to help the children, as well as, we are very flexible in how we run our program. This helps us to better care for the children and meet their needs, and be able to manage a wide range of children.

Qualifications:

Jarid

  • Diploma from Loyalist College in Correctional Services
  • Social Skills Training for Anti-Social Children & Adolescents
  • Conducting Skills Group for Parents of Children with Disruptive Disorders
  • Anger Control Training for Children and Adolescents
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention

Shannon

  • Diploma from CDI College in Medical Office Administration
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention

We currently have 4 cats named Marshall, Tabby, Sid, and Pinchy

Description of Home

 

We live in a new home built in 2005. Our home has 7 bedrooms with a living room upstairs and downstairs and a large play room for the children and all their toys. The children have their own living room with entertainment system and their own bathroom. Our back yard has a large deck with lots of room to play games and run around.

Our Interests

We enjoy many activities in the home and outside of the home. We spend a lot of the summer at the cottage on the Bay of Quinte. We also travel north towards Bancroft to a cabin in the woods where the kids play different games and build forts in the woods. When we are out in Belleville we like to do things like: Mini golf, Movies, YMCA, Park, Mall. We also like to do lots of family activities in the home like baking, crafts, and Karaoke.
