Position of Child and Youth Worker
We are currently seeking qualified individuals to work within several Parent-Therapist Homes. As a Child and Youth Worker you will receive shifts working with children, as a specialized relief provider, being responsible for the day-to-day operation of Parent-Therapist Homes with children / adolescents between the ages of 6 and 15 years.
Specific Skills Required:
- Prepare, cook and serve meals.
- Launder clothing and household linens, Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Teach Homemaking or life skills, Provide personal care, Aid clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.
- Drive household vehicle, Supervise and care for foster children, Consult foster parent agency supervisors for advice and when problems arise.
- Obtain information and prepare reports on client cases.
- Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations.
- Supervise children’s visits with biological parents to ensure children’s safety.
- Implement established behavior management plans.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a diploma / degree in the human services field.
- Must not have a record of conviction or suspicion of child abuse or neglect.
- Must have a valid drivers license, a safe and reliable vehicle with sufficient auto insurance coverage.
- Must be willing to learn new skills and be involved in ongoing training.
- Must complete a medical examination.
- Must pass a home study that involves evaluation of personal mental health issues.
