Quinte Children’s Homes
Quinte Children’s Homes understands the magnitude of healing and change that is brought about through the parent-child relationship and the increased opportunities to make the most of “therapeutic moments.” With this in mind, Quinte Children’s Homes fashioned their program so that both primary care and treatment were delivered through Parent Therapists.
Foster Homes and Parent Therapists
Our foster homes focus on selecting Parent Therapists for their professional credentials (i.e., college diploma or university degree related to social services and/or health sciences) and their unique parenting styles and characteristics.
Parent Therapist Foster Care Program Support
We support the foster care family through extensive training and multidisciplinary clinical consultations, along with individual and group counseling for youth who would benefit from these techniques. Finally, we provide extensive staff support to assist the Parent Therapists in managing their foster homes and access to an alternative school day treatment program for those children who are unable to maintain a placement in the public education system.
